Writesonic sells four self-serve plans. Starter costs $79 per month billed annually, Basic $199 and Growth $399, with Enterprise quoted on request. Billed month to month those same three tiers cost $99, $249 and $499. Agencies buy from a separate ladder that starts at $200 per month.

There’s no permanent free plan anymore, though you can start a trial without handing over a card. Every figure on this page was checked against Writesonic’s own pricing page on 6 September 2026.

Starter Plan: $79 per Month

Starter costs $79 per month billed annually, or $99 month to month. It’s one user and one project, 15 AI articles a month and 10 site audits of up to 100 pages each. Prompt tracking runs at 50 prompts and 50 answers a day.

Those answers are pulled from ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, the same three platforms every self-serve tier covers. The Action Center isn’t included at this level and agentic workflows are capped at 10 trial runs. You’ll get one brand voice and one market.

Basic Plan: $199 per Month

Basic costs $199 per month billed annually, or $249 month to month. Tracking widens to 100 prompts and 300 daily answers, and the content side moves to 25 AI articles plus 20 site audits of up to 1,200 pages each.

Two users are included, still on one project, and there are five brand voices. There’s no Action Center here either. Agentic workflows rise to 50 trial runs, and you can bolt on up to three more seats at $50 per user per month.

Growth Plan: $399 per Month

Growth costs $399 per month billed annually, or $499 month to month. Writesonic badges it as the most popular tier, and it’s where sentiment analysis finally switches on and the Action Center appears at all. That access is a trial rather than full use: five off-page and five on-page actions a month.

The allowances jump too. Fifty AI articles, 50 site audits of up to 2,500 pages each, three users, two projects, ten brand voices, and 200 prompts with 600 daily answers tracked. Extra articles cost $100 per 20, and agentic workflows stretch to 100 trial runs.

Enterprise Plan

Enterprise is quoted rather than listed. It’s the only tier that tracks all 10 AI platforms, adding Perplexity, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI and Google AI Mode to the three that self-serve plans cover.

Prompts, answers, articles, audits, seats and projects are all negotiated, so there’s no list price to work from. Enterprise also carries the full Action Center, unrestricted agentic workflows, Looker Studio, SSO/SAML, SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA and GDPR coverage, and a dedicated AI search strategist.

Is There a Free Writesonic Plan?

Writesonic no longer publishes a permanent free plan. The pricing page lists four paid tiers and a free trial you can start without entering payment details, which isn’t the same offer as the $0 tier that several older guides still describe.

Writesonic doesn’t state a trial length anywhere on the pricing page, so don’t plan around one. What it does commit to is signup without a card, so you’re free to look before you pay, which makes the cheapest committed entry point Starter at $79 per month on annual billing.

What Does Each Writesonic Plan Include?

Every paid plan bundles the same three things: AI content creation, site audits and AI search visibility tracking. What changes between tiers is how much of each you’ll get and whether you can act on what the tracking finds.

Plan AI articles per month Site audits per month Pages per audit Brand voices Markets
Writesonic Starter 15 10 100 1 1
Writesonic Basic 25 20 1,200 5 1
Writesonic Growth 50 50 2,500 10 1
Writesonic Enterprise Custom Custom Custom Custom Custom

Tracking capacity, seats and the tools that act on what tracking finds split differently across those same four plans.

Plan AI platforms tracked Prompts tracked Answers tracked daily Users included Additional user per month ($) Projects Sentiment analysis Action Center Agentic workflows
Writesonic Starter 3 50 50 1 n/a 1 n/a n/a 10 trial runs
Writesonic Basic 3 100 300 2 50 (up to 3 more) 1 n/a n/a 50 trial runs
Writesonic Growth 3 200 600 3 50 (up to 2 more) 2 Included 5 off-page + 5 on-page per month 100 trial runs
Writesonic Enterprise 10 Custom Custom Custom Custom Custom Included Full access Full access

Support tracks the price too. Starter and Basic get standard email, Growth gets priority email, and Enterprise gets Slack, Teams, email and a named account manager. On integrations, Writesonic connects to Google Search Console, WordPress and GA4, and it lists Looker Studio only inside the Enterprise bundle. That last one matters if you’re feeding site audits into an existing reporting stack.

What Runs Out First on a Writesonic Plan?

Articles, site audits, tracked prompts and daily answers are metered separately, so a plan can run dry on one while the rest sit untouched. You won’t get a warning from the other three. Working out which one you’ll hit first is what decides whether $199 or $399 is the right number.

Content teams normally hit the article cap first. Fifteen articles on Starter is roughly three a week, and the jump to 50 on Growth costs $320 a month more than Starter. Brand and PR teams hit the prompt cap instead, since 50 tracked prompts covers a narrow product but not a category.

Four add-ons and limits are worth pricing in before you’re committed:

  • Extra seats: $50 per user per month. Basic takes up to three more and Growth up to two more, so both top out at five users.
  • Extra articles: $100 per 20 articles on Growth. Enterprise negotiates its own volume.
  • Agentic workflows: sold as trial runs rather than a monthly allowance, at 10 on Starter, 50 on Basic and 100 on Growth.
  • Action Center: ten actions a month on Growth, split five off-page and five on-page. Full access is Enterprise only.

Writesonic doesn’t publish overage rates, and a fair usage policy applies across the plans. Until sales tells you otherwise, treat every cap above as a hard stop.

How Much Does Writesonic Cost for Agencies?

Agencies buy from a separate ladder. Agency Starter costs $200 per month billed annually or $250 billed monthly, and Agency Enterprise is quoted.

Plan Annual price per month ($) Monthly price ($) What it covers
Writesonic Agency Starter 200 250 Up to 20 pitch projects a month, 2,000 answers, unlimited users and projects
Writesonic Agency Enterprise Custom Custom Pitch and standard projects, client workspaces, white-label reporting, full platform

Agency Starter is built around winning work rather than servicing it, and that shows in what it doesn’t include. Each pitch project runs for one to seven days and then auto-pauses, which is enough to produce a shareable audit report for a prospect without carrying the cost of an ongoing subscription. Every AI model except Claude is tracked at this tier.

Converting a pitch into an ongoing client project starts at $150 per project per month. White-label reporting, client workspaces, consolidated billing and pre-built SOWs all sit on Agency Enterprise, so if you need your own branding on the deliverable you’re looking at a quote rather than a list price.

What Are Writesonic’s GEO and AI Search Visibility Features?

GEO, short for generative engine optimization, is Writesonic’s name for the tools that measure and improve how a brand appears inside AI-generated answers. That’s why it’s priced against SEO suites like Surfer SEO instead of against AI writing tools, and it’s the strongest argument for the ticket price.

Six features carry that price tag, and each one unlocks on a specific tier.

  • AI prompt tracking (all tiers): monitors specific prompts across ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews to see whether your brand appears in the answer.
  • Brand presence monitoring (all tiers): shows how often you surface against competitors for the prompts you track.
  • Ads monitoring (all tiers): covers ads inside ChatGPT and Google AI experiences.
  • Sentiment analysis (Growth and Enterprise): reads whether AI engines describe the brand positively or negatively.
  • Action Center (Growth trial, Enterprise full): ranks visibility gaps by impact and executes on-page and off-page fixes.
  • Brand Explorer and AI search volume (five one-time runs on self-serve tiers, unlimited on Enterprise): finds the prompts and topics worth tracking in the first place.

The AI Article Writer feeds straight into that loop, since content is how most visibility gaps get closed. That integration is the product, and it’s what separates the price from a standalone writing subscription.

Annual vs Monthly Billing: How Much Can You Save?

Annual billing cuts 20% off every self-serve tier, which is $240 a year on Starter, $600 on Basic and $1,200 on Growth.

Paid up front, a year of Starter comes to $948, Basic to $2,388 and Growth to $4,788. You’ll settle all 12 months at signup, though Writesonic lets you move between billing modes afterwards.

The trade is liquidity against price. Monthly costs more but exits faster, which suits a team that’s still testing whether AI visibility tracking earns its keep. Once the platform is genuinely in the workflow, annual is flat-out the better deal.

Which Writesonic Plan Is Right for Your Business?

The right tier comes down to seats, article volume and whether you need the platform to fix things or only to report them. Here’s how that breaks down.

  • Solo marketers: Starter at $79 a month. One seat, 15 articles and full three-platform tracking, without the sentiment analysis or the Action Center.
  • Small content teams: Basic at $199 a month. Two seats, 25 articles, 300 daily answers and audits deep enough for a real site at 1,200 pages.
  • In-house SEO teams and growing agencies: Growth at $399 a month. The first tier where sentiment analysis and the Action Center exist, plus 50 articles and three seats.
  • Agencies pitching new business: Agency Starter at $200 a month, which is cheaper than Growth and built for short prospect audits rather than ongoing tracking.
  • Enterprises: the quoted tier, and the only route to more than three tracked AI platforms.

What Happened to the Lite, Standard, Professional and Advanced Plans?

Writesonic’s pricing page no longer lists Lite, Standard, Professional or Advanced. The published ladder is Starter, Basic, Growth and Enterprise, and $79 per month is the cheapest rung on it.

Several pricing guides published earlier in 2026 still run the old names, which is why search results throw up contradictory tables for the same product. Writesonic hasn’t published a mapping from the retired plans to the current ones, so if you’re on a legacy subscription your billing dashboard is the only place that’ll tell you what you’re actually paying for.

What Discounts Does Writesonic Offer?

Annual billing is the only discount Writesonic publishes, and it takes 20% off Starter, Basic and Growth.

  • Annual billing: 20% off every self-serve tier, paid as 12 months up front.
  • Affiliate program: 20% recurring commission for up to 12 months per referral, with a 60-day cookie window.

Writesonic’s old help center used to document a student and nonprofit rate. That subdomain returns a 404 today, so any coupon or student discount you’ll find quoted elsewhere is unverified until sales confirms it in writing.

What Is Writesonic’s Refund and Cancellation Policy?

Writesonic refunds the initial subscription fee in full if you ask within seven days of your first purchase. After that window the terms treat fees as non-refundable, except where the law requires otherwise.

Subscriptions bought under an order form, which is how enterprise and agency deals are papered, aren’t refundable at all. That’s worth knowing before an annual agency commitment.

Renewals are automatic. Each term rolls into another of the same length unless one side gives written notice 30 days before the current one ends. Self-serve plans can be cancelled from the account page inside the product, and it takes effect at the end of the billing cycle you’ve already paid for.

Plan changes move at two different speeds. Upgrades apply immediately, while downgrades and cancellations wait for the next cycle. Writesonic can also raise fees for a renewal term, again with 30 days notice.

Is Writesonic Pricing Worth the Investment?

At $199 to $399 a month, Writesonic earns its price for a team that would otherwise buy an AI writer and an AI visibility tracker separately. Consolidation is the whole argument, and for a two or three person content team it holds up without question. You’re buying one bill instead of two.

Solo users have a harder case. Starter at $79 tracks the same three platforms as the tiers above it, yet it doesn’t bring sentiment analysis, doesn’t bring the Action Center and gives you a single seat. Set against a writing-only subscription at the same price, you’re paying for monitoring you may not be ready to act on. Copy.ai pricing starts lower again, and it’s the honest comparison for a one-person operation. Our roundup of content writing tools for SEO covers the cheaper end of that trade.

Two caveats belong in the budget, and neither is small. Agentic workflows are still sold as trial runs on every self-serve tier rather than as a monthly allowance, and the Action Center on Growth stops at ten actions a month. If automated fixes at scale is the pitch that sold you, that scale lives on Enterprise, and Enterprise won’t come with a price on it.

Writesonic Pricing FAQ

Do I need a credit card to start the free trial?

You can sign up for Writesonic’s free trial without entering a credit card. Writesonic says no payment details are needed at signup, and it doesn’t publish a trial length.

How does annual billing work?

Annual billing charges all 12 months up front at a 20% discount, so you’re paying for the year on day one. Starter works out to $79 per month, or $948 for the year, which saves $240 against paying monthly.

Can I add more users to my plan?

You’ll pay $50 per user per month for extra seats on Basic and Growth. Basic takes up to three additional users and Growth up to two, so both tiers cap out at five people.

Which AI platforms does Writesonic track?

Starter, Basic and Growth all track ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. Enterprise is where that widens to all 10 platforms, including Perplexity, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI and Google AI Mode.

Can I switch plans or cancel anytime?

Upgrades take effect immediately, while downgrades and cancellations apply from the next billing cycle. Self-serve plans cancel from the account page in the product, and you’ll get a full refund if you ask within seven days of a first purchase.
