As of October 2026

Semrush costs from €134 a month for the entry SEO plan, or €112.52 a month if you pay for a year upfront, and the price climbs to €286 a month for Pro+. If you last read about Semrush pricing a year ago, the plan names have changed: the Pro, Guru and Business tiers that most guides still describe no longer appear on Semrush's pricing page. Today the lineup is SEO, Starter, Pro+ and Advanced, plus a free plan and a custom Enterprise tier.

This guide walks through every current plan with its limits, shows how the old names map to the new ones, spells out the free plan, trial and refund rules from Semrush's own policy, prices the add-ons and toolkits, and adds up what you pay in the first year. All figures were checked on Semrush's pricing page and its refund policy on 19 October 2026.

Last updated: 19 October 2026. Semrush showed prices in euros when we loaded the page from Germany, so the tables use euros. US list prices are given in the text.

How Much Does Semrush Cost?

Semrush costs €134 a month (SEO) to €286 a month (Pro+) on monthly billing, and €112.52 to €238 a month when billed annually. The Advanced plan and Enterprise are priced on request. There's also a free plan that costs nothing. Semrush says annual billing saves "up to 17%".

For readers pricing in dollars: the US list prices reported for the same plans are $139.95 (SEO), $199 (Starter) and $299 (Pro+) a month. They closely match the euro figures once you apply the exchange rate in Semrush's own page code, but the US page is the one you'll want to trust at checkout.

The annual rate is a monthly equivalent. You pay the whole year upfront, so the "per month" number in the third column isn't what leaves your card each month. Starter, Pro+ and Advanced are the plans that bundle AI visibility tracking with classic SEO tools. The SEO plan is the SEO-only entry point.

What Happened to Semrush Pro, Guru and Business?

Semrush doesn't list Pro, Guru or Business on its pricing page. The page now shows SEO, Starter, Pro+ and Advanced. Semrush doesn't publish a note explaining the rename, so the mapping below is our reading, and we haven't seen Semrush confirm it: the old limits line up with the new plans, and price trackers report the same pairing.

Old nameOld limitsClosest current planCurrent limits
Pro ($139.95 a month)5 projects, 500 keywordsSEO (€134 a month)5 websites, 500 keywords
Guru ($249.95 a month)15 projects, 1,500 keywordsPro+ (€286 a month)15 websites, 1,500 keywords
Business ($499.95 a month)40 projects, 5,000 keywordsAdvanced (custom)40+ websites, 5,000+ keywords

The old prices and limits come from the pricing guides that still describe the retired plans. Older guides also call Starter, Pro+ and Advanced "Semrush One" bundles; they're the same names that now sit under the SEO + AI Search tab. Starter is new and sits between SEO and Pro+. Price trackers date the switch to mid-2026, but they disagree on the exact week, so we've left the date out. The practical effect is that Pro+ costs more than Guru did: Guru was $249.95 a month, while Pro+ is $299 a month in the US. If you read an article quoting $139.95, $249.95 and $499.95 as current prices, it's describing the old lineup.

What Does Each Semrush Plan Include?

The plans differ in three limits: how many websites you can monitor, how many keywords Position Tracking checks every day, and how many AI prompts Semrush tracks for your brand. Higher plans also unlock features. Here's what Semrush lists for each one.

SEO

SEO is the entry plan at €134 a month (€112.52 billed annually). It covers 5 websites and 500 daily keyword checks, with basic keyword research, competitor analysis, Position Tracking and Site Audit. Semrush's own card marks tracking performance in AI search, AI sentiment monitoring, AI visibility reports for any domain and custom prompt monitoring as not included, so this is the plan for classic SEO only. Semrush's help text points freelancers, bloggers and in-house marketers on a limited budget to this plan.

Starter

Starter costs €190 a month (€158.40 annually). It keeps the same 5 websites and 500 keywords as SEO, then adds an AI visibility layer: 50 prompts tracked daily, one domain for AI brand performance, 300 AI visibility reports a day, an AI-ready Site Audit and MCP access. It suits a consultant or small team that needs to watch how ChatGPT-style answers mention a brand, without needing more sites.

Pro+

Pro+ is €286 a month (€238 annually). It triples the limits to 15 websites and 1,500 daily keywords, doubles the AI tracking to 100 prompts a day and adds historical SEO data, content optimization, keyword cannibalization analysis and multi-location and multi-device tracking. That's where most growing agencies will end up.

Advanced

Advanced has no public price. Semrush asks you to request a demo. It lists 40+ websites, 5,000+ daily keywords, SEO share of voice, advanced API data integration, team users and reporting. The pricing page says "unlimited prompts" for AI tracking, but Semrush's subscription help page lists 200 prompts a day. The two pages disagree, so ask the sales team for the number in writing.

Enterprise

Semrush Enterprise is for multi-brand, multi-region organizations. Semrush lists unlimited projects, custom limits, SSO and team governance, API integrations, a dedicated account manager and an SLA, all at custom pricing. If you sign a separate agreement, its terms replace the standard refund policy described below.

One more limit hides in the plan FAQ. The number of Analytics report requests per day depends on the plan: 10 on a free account, 3,000 on SEO, 5,000 on Pro+ and 10,000 on Advanced. For most solo users these caps are very generous, but an agency that's running audits across many clients can hit them.

Monthly vs Annual Billing: What Does Annual Save?

Annual billing saves about 16 to 17 percent per plan (€257.76 a year on SEO), which is in line with Semrush's "up to 17%" claim, and you pay the whole year at once. Monthly billing costs more but lets you stop after any month. The difference is really not small once you add it up.

PlanMonthly billing, 12 monthsAnnual billing, 12 monthsYou save
SEO€1,608€1,350.24€257.76 (16.0%)
Starter€2,280€1,900.80€379.20 (16.6%)
Pro+€3,432€2,856€576 (16.8%)

The totals are our arithmetic from the per-month prices on Semrush's page. Annual billing has a second catch that you'll want to know about: Semrush's money-back guarantee only covers a first purchase with a 12-month commitment, and only for seven days. That rule is explained in the refund section.

Does Semrush Have a Free Plan or Free Trial?

As of 19 October 2026, Semrush offers both, and they're different things. Semrush has a free plan at $0 with 1 demo project, 10 reports per day across its vital tools and AI Visibility features, and it needs no credit card. Paid plans and most toolkits come with a 7-day free trial. The trial does need a card.

On the trial, Semrush's subscription help page and pricing page say it charges a nominal amount to your card to check that it's valid and refunds it right away. You aren't billed until the trial ends, and then your first payment is taken automatically at the standard rate unless you cancel first. Two details people don't expect: exports are disabled during a trial, and each toolkit trial can be activated only once per account.

A practical way to use the 7-day window is to run a Site Audit on a real site, set up Position Tracking for your top keywords and check whether the data you need exports at all after you subscribe. Put a calendar reminder on day 5, because cancelling before day 7 is the only way to avoid the first charge.

Can You Get a Refund or Cancel Semrush?

You can cancel at any time, but refunds are narrow, and it's easy to miss that. According to Semrush's refund policy as of 19 October 2026, Semrush offers a one-time, 7-day money-back guarantee, and it covers only an initial purchase with a commitment of 12 months or more, bought with a credit card on semrush.com. Month-to-month subscriptions aren't refundable.

  • Refund window: you must submit a written request within 7 calendar days of placing your first annual order.
  • Add-ons: an initial add-on bought on top of an existing subscription is covered the same way.
  • Cancellation: log in and submit the cancellation form. It takes effect at the end of your committed term, and Semrush confirms it within 3 business days. Unpaid trials and free subscriptions end within 3 business days of the request.
  • Renewals: if you cancel mid-term and don't request a refund under the policy, you keep access until the term ends but get no money back for the unused time.
  • Signed contracts: a separate order form or enterprise agreement replaces this policy.

The consequence is simple: if you're unsure, don't buy a year upfront. Start monthly or use the trial, because you can't get money back on a monthly plan and a mistaken annual purchase is only reversible for one week, which isn't long.

What Do Semrush Add-ons and Toolkits Cost?

Beyond the SEO plans, Semrush sells extra seats, reports and separate toolkits. Extra users start at €43 a month on the SEO plans. Lead Generation costs €86.31 a month, the Base Report €9.59 and the Pro Report €19.18. The toolkits below are priced separately, and their prices are per month on annual billing.

ToolkitTiers (per month, billed annually)
AI VisibilityBase €94.94 per domain (25 custom prompts, 1 domain for Brand Performance)
Traffic & MarketPro €277.15
ContentBase €57.54 (10,000 articles a month, 5 SEO content boosts)
LocalBase €28.77 per location, Pro €57.54 per location, Business custom
SocialBase €19.18, Pro €38.36, Business €239.75
AdvertisingBase €94.94, Pro €210.98
AI PRBase €142.89, Pro €267.56, Business €478.54

Toolkit prices change more often than the main plans, so treat this table as a snapshot from 19 October 2026. Additional users on the toolkit pages are €19.18 a month, except Traffic & Market, where Semrush says to contact them. The AI Visibility toolkit's the one to watch: at €94.94 a month it costs nearly as much as the SEO plan itself. On annual billing, SEO plus the toolkit comes to €207.46 a month (€112.52 plus €94.94), while Starter is €158.40 and tracks 50 prompts instead of 25.

What Will You Really Pay in the First Year?

As of October 2026, one user on the SEO plan pays about €1,350 in the first year on annual billing, €1,901 on Starter and €2,856 on Pro+, before add-ons and tax. Each extra seat adds from €43 a month. Those are the numbers you'd put in a budget, not the headline monthly price.

Bar chart of Semrush first-year cost on annual billing: SEO €1,350, Starter €1,901, Pro+ €2,856 for one user.
First-year cost on annual billing, one user. Euro prices as shown to a German visitor.

Another way to compare plans is cost per tracked keyword. On annual billing, SEO works out to about €0.23 per tracked keyword per month (€112.52 divided by 500) and Pro+ to about €0.16 (€238 divided by 1,500). Per website the gap is similar: roughly €22.50 on SEO and €15.87 on Pro+. If you actually use the extra capacity, the higher plan is cheaper per unit. If you don't, you're paying for slots you never fill.

  • Solo site owner: SEO on annual billing is about €1,350 a year.
  • Freelancer with AI visibility reporting: Starter on annual billing is about €1,901 a year.
  • Two-person agency team on Pro+: €2,856 plus one extra seat from €43 a month, so at least €3,372 a year if the seat is billed monthly.

Taxes aren't included in any of these totals, and Semrush's page doesn't say whether the displayed prices include VAT.

Which Semrush Plan Should You Choose?

Choose by the number of sites and tracked keywords you really have, then decide whether you need AI visibility reports. If you track up to five sites and 500 keywords, SEO or Starter is enough. If you manage up to 15 sites, Pro+ is clearly the lowest plan that fits.

Your situationPlan to start withWhy
One blog or business site, SEO onlySEO5 websites and 500 keywords cover it at the lowest price
Same size, but clients ask about AI answersStarterAdds 50 daily AI prompts and the AI-ready Site Audit
6 to 15 sites, or more than 500 keywordsPro+15 websites, 1,500 keywords, historical data
Agency with 16+ sites or API needsAdvanced40+ websites, 5,000+ keywords, API, share of voice
Multi-brand organization with SSO needsEnterpriseCustom limits, SLA, governance

For a client-facing agency the practical answer is Pro+ at €238 a month billed annually (€286 monthly), because 15 websites and 1,500 keywords cover a small client roster. A solo consultant with a few clients can start on Starter at €158.40. Semrush's own advice matches this split: SEO for freelancers and in-house marketers on a limited budget, Starter or Pro+ for consultants and agencies who want to cover both classic search and AI answers. If you're still unsure, take the 7-day trial on the plan above the one you think you need and see whether you come close to its limits.

Is Semrush Worth the Price?

Semrush is clearly worth it when you monitor several sites, use the competitor data weekly and need AI visibility tracking next to classic rankings. It's poor value if you track one small site and mostly need basic keyword ideas, because you'd pay for capacity you never use.

How much should you expect to pay for SEO?

Expect the software to be a minor part of the bill. Semrush's own plans run from about €1,350 to €2,856 a year per user on annual billing (SEO to Pro+), which is far below what content, links and specialist time usually cost, and no tool price tells you what the total SEO budget should be. The limit of this math is that Semrush covers research and tracking only: it doesn't write, build links or fix your site for you.

Why is Semrush so expensive?

On annual billing the cheapest paid plan still costs €112.52 a month, and the plan that adds AI tracking (Starter) costs €158.40. The price buys a bundle, and it's a big one: keyword and competitor databases, Position Tracking, Site Audit, reporting and now AI visibility tracking, each metered by limits. What you pay is mostly about limits, so the most expensive mistake isn't a missing feature. It's a plan that's far larger than your workload. The tool fee is also only the software part of SEO. It doesn't include writing, links or the time to act on what the reports show.

Is there a cheaper alternative to Semrush?

Yes, and the cheapest route may be Semrush itself. You can skip the main plans and buy one toolkit: Content Base costs €57.54 a month and Social Base €19.18 a month on annual billing, against €112.52 for the SEO plan. Outside Semrush, the right alternative depends on what you drop. If you mainly need backlink data, compare it against Ahrefs in our Semrush vs Ahrefs breakdown, and check the current Ahrefs pricing. Frequently Asked Questions

These answers reflect Semrush's pricing as of 19 October 2026.

Is there a lifetime deal for Semrush?

No. As of 19 October 2026, Semrush's pricing page lists only monthly and annual subscriptions. It shows no lifetime or one-time purchase option, so any "lifetime" offer elsewhere isn't coming from Semrush's own pricing page.

Is old Semrush pricing from 2022 still valid?

No. The plan names have changed since then, so use the current figures above and confirm them on the pricing page before you buy.

Can you add or remove Semrush toolkits later?

Yes. Semrush's subscription help page says specialist toolkits can be added or removed at any time, while raising limits on an SEO plan or building a custom plan goes through its sales team.

Which payment methods does Semrush accept?

Semrush's pricing FAQ lists all major credit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express and UnionPay. Because the refund guarantee only covers card purchases made on semrush.com, a card is also the safest way to keep that option open.
